Beginning July 1st, RAGMS and the Crater Rock Museum is launching a new, adult, volunteer program. The goal of this is to reward our hard-working volunteers while at the same time they “earn” their next year’s membership. This is also to encourage you to become more involved in the club and organization.
The program will run from July 1st to June 30th, our fiscal year, with a Volunteer Party and awards given on the third Saturday in July. Lifetime award hours is cumulative.
The volunteer levels and awards are listed at the bottom. We want to recognize every volunteer and if someone volunteers, even a few hours no matter what the age, we want to say thank you. If the adult reaches the level of 50 hours in that fiscal year – congratulations! You have just earned your next membership renewal! For household memberships, if an adult in the household reaches the 50-hour level, they can either pay an additional $10 for the membership, or a second adult can also volunteer 50 hours and the entire membership is free.
Hours MUST be tracked and we have a program in place for all volunteers to do just that. In fact, we will send out a reminder in May that if you are close to the next level, to get those hours in!
If this an earned membership interests you, or you are eager to help the museum or the RAGMS, there are lots of opportunities to volunteer throughout the year.
